Changing password, adding second factor, passkey, etc

Hi!

Normally on Discourse you can do things like getting a password reset link, adding a second authentication factor, adding a passkey, etc. in “Preferences”, “Security”. Here in this forum it seems to be absent because the forum uses some sort of Single-Sign-On.

I tried to get into the account settings through auth.dbpedia.org, but then it just asks me to log in again and refuses the credentials (because from the URL it seems to redirect to some kind of administrative interface, which is not what I want). How can I change my account settings?

Hi @herrmann,
what do you want to configure exactly?

you are correct, we use SSO (OIDC via keycloak), you can change some login related stuff here

You are right with the redirect to admin account console. I will try to fix that.

Thanks for the link.

I was looking for the possibility of using passkeys, considering that Discourse now supports it. But it looks like your SSO does not support it yet.

it seems it might be supported in the future Server Administration Guide

at the moment it is preview and not recommended to be used in production.
thus I will refrain to adopt it ATM. But I find passkeys quite nice too.
Please come back to this in some months if you are then still interested.

you can try it out in our dev environment

but I still experienced bugs like e.g. a passkey just stopped working after some time

in production you can also link your dbpedia account to your github account and then use passkeys of github in the meantime to login into the forum already.
